Letter from PC

Dearest Readers,
It's springtime in Oklahoma, which means that along with the writing of REVEALED I'm wading my way through tree pollen and allergies! The more positive side of new beginnings is that I will wade my way through the always difficult first part of a manuscript and emerge with clarity and purpose and new life in the latter half of the pages - just as pollen and allergies will eventually give way to fully leafed trees and mature, blooming flowers.

I've decided to write the last two House of Night books back to back, and then to tell Kalona's history in a 4th novella titled, KALONA'S FALL. The winged immortal's past has been on my mind for some time now, and I'll be glad to share it with my faithful readers. I'm looking forward to the fantasy setting, as well as fleshing out the past of one of my favorite characters.

REVEALED and REDEEMED, the last two HoN books, are twins and must be written together. One organically leads into the other - the conclusion Zoey and I have built through twelve novels. Coming to the end is bittersweet. I'm eager to reveal Zoey's destiny, and to show readers the paths she and her friends will choose. So, you'll have to forgive me for not touring over the next year and a half. I must focus on completing the House of Night trek, and I can't write while I'm on tour.

Movie news: I'm where you guys are - I can only sit back and wait. I have confidence in my producer, Samuel Hadida, and the Davis Films family, but I am NOT in charge of screenplay, casting, or filming. I'm eager to get the first movie in theaters - even more eager than you guys are to see it! So, I'll break news on my blog as I get it. If I'm silent, it's because I don't know anything new!

WISDOM OF THE HOUSE OF NIGHT ORACLE DECK AND APP

In collaboration with oracle expert and intuitive counselor Colette Baron-Reid, P. C. Cast has produced Wisdom of the House of Night Oracle Cards (published by Potter Style, On Sale 10/2/12, $12.95). Lushly illustrated by Jena DellaGrottaglia and packaged in a keepsake box, these oracle cards provide fans of the series with the means to summon the vampyre Goddess Nyx and ask for her guidance.

To use the oracle deck, readers shuffle the 50 cards, think of a question, and then draw a card to receive Nyx’s message. The meaning of each card is spelled out in an accompanying booklet, and many of the card themes are inspired by House of Night characters.

Oooh! It's almost time for the release of LENOBIA'S VOW! I love this novella so much! And I'm super excited about the launch party Kristin and I are hosting at The Book Place in Broken Arrow, OK (just down the street from where I used to teach!). It's going to be a fabulous party! SAMUEL HADIDA’S DAVIS FILMS ACQUIRES FEATURE FILM RIGHTS TO HOUSE OF NIGHT VAMPIRE-BASED BOOK SERIES

Los Angeles – November 2, 2011: Samuel Hadida announced today that his company, Davis Films, has acquired film rights from authors P.C. and Kristin Cast to their phenomenally successful House of Night young adult fiction book series.

“We are thrilled to bring P.C.’s and Kristin’s stunning series of books to worldwide film audiences,” stated Samuel Hadida. “They have created a world of adolescent growth against a backdrop of supernatural suspense that resonates around the world with young readers immersed in Twilight and Harry Potter. House of Night connects on a profound level -- what growing up means today.”

Davis Films is known for its successful film series, including Silent Hill and most notably the Resident Evil films. “We see with House of Night the same franchise potential,” Hadida added.

This event will be an online chat between P.C. and Kristin Cast and fans around the world. Fans are asked to submit questions for the event and watch to see if their questions get answered. Questions can be submitted to houseofnight@stmartins.com.

The event will be taking place on November 2, 2011 from 7:30-8:30 PM EST. On the facebook event page we have a list of ways you can watch. You could watch on Facebook, Ustream or even on your iPhone or Android device via Ustream.

Can't make it during those times? Don't worry, you can actually watch the even after it has taken place.
